Geberit

The name inside the wall

Most people have never bought anything from Geberit and have used their products for years. That's rather the point. Geberit make the frames, cisterns and flush systems that sit hidden behind the tiles — the parts nobody sees, nobody thinks about, and nobody wants to think about again once the wall is closed up.

The company is Swiss, family-founded in 1874, and has spent a century and a half on one narrow problem: moving water through a building properly. They're the European market leader in sanitary systems, with around 11,000 staff and a headquarters at Rapperswil-Jona. They invented the plastic concealed cistern in the 1950s, and the market has been catching up ever since.

The practical version, for anyone standing in a half-stripped bathroom: a concealed frame is not a component you want to save fifty pounds on. Getting to it again means taking the tiles off. Geberit's reputation is built on the fact that you almost never have to.

Concealed frames and cisterns

The Duofix and Sigma systems are what a wall hung toilet or basin actually hangs on. The frame carries the load, the cistern sits inside it, and everything is set at whatever height you choose — which is how wall hung installations get a seat height that suits the person using it, rather than whatever the floor dictates.

Two things worth knowing before you order. Cistern depth matters: the 12cm Sigma is the common domestic choice, and shower toilets in particular are usually built around it. And frame height matters: 112cm is the standard installation height for most wall hung setups. If you're unsure which combination your pan needs, ring us before you buy rather than after the plasterboard goes on.

Flush plates

The one part of the system anybody sees. The Sigma range covers everything from plain white to matt black, brushed brass and stainless steel, so the plate can either disappear into the wall or become the one piece of metalwork that ties the room together.

Worth choosing deliberately rather than as an afterthought — it's a small item that sits at eye level for the next twenty years, and swapping it later is one of the few parts of the system you genuinely can change without breaking anything.

AquaClean shower toilets

Geberit have been refining shower toilets for decades, long before the UK started paying attention. A warm water wash at the press of a button, built into a pan that looks like an ordinary designer WC — no plastic housing, no control panel on the wall, nothing that announces itself to visitors.

The AquaClean Alba is the entry point into the range and where most UK households start. It also makes a real difference to anyone who finds bending and reaching difficult, which is why we're able to offer it with VAT relief for eligible customers.

DuoFresh odour extraction

A module that fits inside the Sigma concealed cistern and draws odours away at source through a carbon filter, rather than masking them afterwards. It's the neatest answer to the family bathroom problem, and because it lives inside the cistern it has to be specified at the same time — this is a decision to make now, not later.

Frequently asked questions

Which Geberit frame do I need?

It depends on the pan, the wall construction and the height you want. For most domestic wall hung toilets it's a 112cm frame with a 12cm Sigma cistern, but check the pan's requirements — or call us and we'll check for you.

Can I use a Geberit pan with another brand's frame?

Sometimes, but not always, and the connection sets supplied with Geberit pans are built for Geberit cisterns. With shower toilets especially, mixing brands is where installations go wrong. Ask us first.

Can a concealed cistern be serviced once it's tiled in?

Yes. Everything serviceable is reached through the flush plate aperture, which is exactly why the flush plate is removable. This is the main reason a good concealed system is worth paying for.

Do you supply spares?

Get in touch with your model details and we'll tell you what's available.

How long is the guarantee?

Geberit guarantee terms vary by product range — check the individual product page, or ask us.
