The Simplest and Easiest Method of Cleaning Your Whirlpool Bath

Cleaning your whirlpool bath is not a chore like cleaning an ordinary, classic bath ? there are some differences, due to the way a whirlpool bath is constructed and designed. The whirlpool bath contains more parts and more intricate plumbing, and this means dirt and scum (residue and used soap, as well as other liquids) can build up in various places. Luckily, the modern whirlpool bath is designed with optimum maintenance in mind, so the chore is not that hard. There are, however, some steps to take; there's a way to getting your whirlpool bath squeaky clean. Want to enjoy your luxury tub for years to come? Here is the simplest method of cleaning your whirlpool bath.

Consult your manual

Whilst there are some general guidelines on how to best clean whirlpool baths, each brand and model differs from the others, so make sure you check and follow the manufacturer?s guidelines ? you don't want to do anything that is not productive, or worse, could damage your beautiful whirlpool bath.

Close all air and jet controls

There'should be no air induction, so make sure all appropriate holes are closed. Next, fill up the bath until all water jets are covered by about two or three inches (about 5 to 8 centimetres) of water. Note, however, that'some manufacturers recommend that the air ducts stay open, so make sure to consult the manual first.

Apply your cleaning products

The cleaning products you use should be of the low-sudsing variety; there's absolutely no need for many bubbles. You should also be using some bleach. If you feel bleach is not appropriate, you can always use a cup of vinegar instead.

Run the bath

You won?t need to run it for long ? 15 minutes should be more than enough time. Run the jets, so they are cleaned properly. Drain, then fill with clean water and run it once more.

Drain the tub

Once the cleaning is done, drain it all again and wipe the bath down with a clean, soft cloth. Check the various nozzles and use a Q-tip to remove harsh residue from hard to reach areas.

The last thing to do is to ensure that all biofilm has been removed. Biofilm is residue that collects in the plumbing; it can pose some serious health problems if it is not taken care of regularly. Since the whirlpool bath can have up to 20 feet of plumbing underneath, it can collect in hard to reach places ? for this reason it's recommended special products are used. Your whirlpool manufacturer should be able to provide you with a list of appropriate products. Just a little regular maintenance goes a long way and ensures you can enjoy your whirlpool bath for years and years to come.
