Is a Walk-in Shower or a Walk-in Bath Best for Me?
When trying to choose between a walk-in shower or a walk-in bath, you can sometimes reach an impasse. Both are fantastic options for bathrooms and can deliver some of the comfort and ease for those who love the time they spend in this room. How do you choose between them? We have some ideas.
What Do You Prefer?
First and foremost, the most obvious question will always be what do you prefer? Most people have a preference between bathing and showering. It could stretch so far as an actual dislike of one or the other. If you are someone who prefers to jump in and out quickly, a shower is always going to be the better option. However, a calmer and more collected experience can often be found from bathing.
Don’t forget that you can also have the best of both worlds! It is entirely possible to find a walk-in shower with the right non-slip base that you can then add a shower unit too – either through a mixer tap and a shower attachment or through an independent unit.
A Question of Cost
If you have a budget that is a little on the stricter side, then you may find yourself with a difficult choice ahead of you. Walk-in shower trays and enclosures do often end up being slightly cheaper than even ordinary bathtubs. If you are constricted by your budget, it might be better for you to focus instead on finding a solution that works for what your budget allows.
However, it is important to remember that you will get a lot of use out of your bathtub, especially if it is the only one in your home. Though you may have to stretch to cover the initial cost, you will hopefully find that this balances out through your continued use of the bathtub.
Do You Have Space?
Luckily, both walk-in showers and baths can fit in limited space. Even if you think you have a small bathroom that will not fit a tub, you can be surprised to learn that you will instead find something that can fit.
Walk-in showers come in every shape and size to try to work with the space you have. You can even get them on the smaller or more narrow side to help you grab something that is going to work for you. The same can be said for walk-in baths. If you are very tight for space, consider a deep soak bath. This might be the best choice for you if you still want all the advantages of a bathtub but think a traditional one won’t fit in the bathroom you have.
So, how do you pick between a walk-in shower and bath? Unfortunately, it often comes down to preference. Both are fantastic options that will serve you well for many years. Check out the models we have on offer here at JT Spas, they may be just what you are looking for!
