How to Properly Design a Practical and Comfortable Bathroom for Your Home
Whether you are remodeling your bathroom or designing a new bathroom from scratch, you?ll face a number of important choices. Some of these choices relate to the visual aspects of your bathroom, some others to your bathroom fixtures. In the long run the choices made about the bathroom fixtures will have consequences for your life. Fixtures often are not very cheap and you will want to make sure that they are of good quality and, of course, they should fit your needs well. We?ll go over a couple of points to consider when buying them for your new and improved bathroom.
Vanities
Vanities come in a wide range of sizes and colours. When designing your bathroom, think well about size; for instance, small vanities will help create an illusion of space in bathrooms of limited space, but if your household consists of more people, you can consider a bigger one, with two basins perhaps and plenty of space to store items.
Showers
Shower cabins come in a range of sizes and from simple showers to high tech massage showers with many options, steam showers, thermostats, their own lighting, you name it. If budget is not an issue you can choose to design your own larger space. All aforementioned items can be modular but can also include shower cabins of your own design as well.
Bathtubs
Bathtubs also come with seemingly endless choices. You can opt for a small bathtub for a single person or a bigger model that fits two (and sometimes more) people. If your bathroom is at ground level, there are baths that are built in to the ground. Or if your space is more limited perhaps a freestanding bath is a good choice. Baths are quite sizable so think well before making up your mind.
Lighting
Do not forget the importance of lighting. Lighting can make or break your bathroom design. Adequate lighting will make your bathroom feel spacious and comfortable and make your personal grooming easier. There are many options for built-in lights that require little space and light up the room efficiently. LED lights are easy to build into many small spaces, they are relatively affordable, and very energy-efficient.
Taps
Your taps will get used thousands of times, so you want to make sure they are of good quality. The first consideration is often the way they look, which is of course very important, but you won?t want taps that'start leaking or breaking after several uses. It might pay off to spend a little extra and prevent future headaches.
Design always depends on personal taste, but think well when designing your bathroom. And choose wisely when it comes to items that will need to function for a long time.
